This Year’s Letter from the Bay Directory’s Coordinator

Residents and Advertisers of 2012-2013 Bay Directory-
We have begun the task of putting together the 31st addition of the Bay Directory. For over 62 years the directory has been in the homes and businesses of Bay Village. As with many things in Bay Village, changes occur and this edition of the Bay Directory will have many changes. Despite those changes, we still plan to have the new directory printed, delivered and available by the end of August or early September of next year.
About those changes. For 60 plus years, our congregation has put together and distributed the directory. That same congregation will continue to provide the Bay Village community with the directory, but we will be doing so under a new name. As of November 17th, our name and location have changed. We are now known as Christ Church Westshore. We are no longer in the building at the corner of Bradley and Wolf. Our offices are temporarily located at 25415 Lake Rd, in extra office space at Bay Presbyterian. We hold our services in rented space at Bay High School on Sunday mornings. Despite the change in our location, our congregation of over 250 people will continue to provide Bay Village with an outstanding directory. Since the first directory we have seen technology explode in our world. As a matter of fact, the technology advancements since the last directory are going to allow us to make some significant changes. We plan to not only provide a hard copy of the directory but we are also going to have an “app” that will be available to all iPhones, iPads, Android, and Blackberry users. This new app will allow users to have instant access to an electronic Bay Directory. We will still have all the addresses, streets etc, but it will allow our advertisers to have a more interactive role. Ads will be able to be updated, coupons added, access to advertisers websites, access to the important information for the schools and city offices, maps etc. We will also be putting security measures into the app to protect our data and information. It will be truly interactive. One last area we will change with the introduction of the new app, is the option to receive a hard copy of the directory. If you only want to use the app, you can opt out of having a directory delivered. This will cut down on waste and maybe save a tree or two!!
As in the past we will give those with current advertisements in the directory the opportunity to keep their same spot for the new directory. We will need to hear back from you with a commitment and a deposit for that spot no later than March 1, 2012. After that, any unclaimed spot will be available on a first come first serve basis. We essentially have unlimited space but some businesses want to remain in the spot they have been in for many directories. Deadline for all fees for advertisement is April 15, 2012. Our projected date to send the directory to the printer is July 1, 2010. Therefore, we will need every advertisement and all artwork back to us by Jun 1st.. All advertisements should be emailed in a PDF format. Any questions concerning PDF, please let us know. The advertising contract with all the info with regards to advertising in the Directory can be found on our website at www.christchurchwestshore.com. Christ Church Westshore will continue to provide you an outstanding Bay Directory. Whether you are into new technology or just prefer the same Bay Directory you have received for over 60 years, you won’t be disappointed in the next version of the directory. Look for the mailings to begin shortly after the holidays. You will receive an envelope with address cards to be used to update our data base. Those will need to be sent back to get the updated info in the directory. For our advertisers, we will be contacting you shortly but feel free to see the website for the updated contract.
