THE ALTAR GUILD

Caring for the altar in an Anglican church has always been done with special love and care. This ministry has been called a “silent ministry” since one rarely ever sees members of the guild but it is nonetheless a vital ministry. The guild is primarily responsible for keeping all of the linens, communion vessels and altar hangings clean and mended. They also see to it that candles are in working order, and that the right amount of bread and wine are placed out for Holy Communion. We are very fortunate to have an attentive altar guild at Christ Church Westshore who work in rotating teams to keep the Lord’s table ready for worship.
