Confirmation & Reception | September 7
While the Anglican tradition has membership at the local church level, we more broadly see ourselves as Anglican Christians who are part of a Global Community. Confirmation is simply the mature decision to follow Jesus, and through the laying on of the hands by a bishop, be joined to the community of the saints. The catechism says this: “In confirmation, God strengthens the work of the Holy Spirit in me for his daily increase in my Christian life and ministry.”

Reception is similar to Confirmation and is for those who were already confirmed, but in another tradition. There is no age restriction on confirmation, though most often confirmation is undertaken by adults joining the church, or young men and women in middle or high school.

On September 7, Archbishop Foley Beach will be with us. The Anglican Distinctives Classes, Parts 1 & 2, are a necessary preparation. Please note these classes are required for those wishing to be confirmed or received into the Anglican Church.
