A vote will be held after the Sunday service to elect new Vestry members for the coming term. Vestry elections are an important Anglican ritual! All members of the parish are encouraged to participate, and all others are welcome to stay and observe. Candidate information will be provided ahead of the vote.
What is the Vestry?
The Vestry is one of the 3 leadership arms within an Anglican church, along with the Rector and the Bishop. The Vestry’s responsibility is to care for the temporal affairs of the church, which include duties such as overseeing the financial needs of the church, making sure the church property is cared for, and ensuring that the church has all the necessary elements for worship.
The Vestry is a very important role. We do not take lightly the commitment and the responsibility of being on the Vestry. St. Barnabas is God’s church, and though we have been through a season of trials, we believe that He is raising up the leaders for the next season, a season of harvest and growth!
